Activation policy |
| Our activation system is designed to handle computer hardware
changes without problems. The activation server is setup to allow the activation
of the same Serial Number for 3 different Computer ID's / year. That means,
if your computer crash and you need to replace it or only change parts of
its hardware, you can activate Smart2DCutting on the new computer using
online or offline
activation, without having to contact us for a new registration key and
wait for it, loosing precious time. The activation of the Serial Number for the same Computer ID is not limited in any way. The Computer ID is different for every computer and only change if the computer is replaced or parts of its hardware are replaced. In case of operating system re-install or hard-drive format the Computer ID should not change (there could be situations when the Computer ID will change when moving from Windows XP to Vista or from Windows 98/Me to NT/2000/XP/Vista). Please note that the activation on 3 different Computer ID's / year was meant to be a comfortable solution for registered users to easily re-activate their copy of Smart2DCutting in case of computer crash or hardware changes. It was NOT meant to be used to deliberately activate the software on more than 1 workstation per license purchased. If you need to use the program on more than one workstation please consider upgrading your license to "3 License Pack" or to "Site License". However, if you feel that your computer will not crash or will not be replaced more than once per year you may activate the main license on your laptop as well. In this case, you will be left with only one backup activation for a 3rd Computer ID (in case of computer crash or hardware change). |
